Annual Report A. Y. 2014-2015


“All power is within you; you can do anything and everything. Believe in that, do not believe that you are weak” said by Swami Vivekananda.  With a view to enhance the skills of the student – teachers in all the competency areas, Pratibha College of Education has organized various academic, curricular & co- curricular activities during the academic year 2014-2015.

It is rightly stated that best result are generated at the end of the day only if best ideas are generated at the beginning of the day. This is also applicable for our college, that’s why in year 2014 -15 lots of programmes were planned at the beginning of the academic year and implemented throughout the year  under the guidance  of Principal  Dr. K. R. Patekar & motivation of Secretary of   K.E.S.,  Dr. Deepak Shah. Here are some glimpses of those programmes.

College was started on 1st August 2014. Welcome programme was organized on 23rd August 2014. For the systematic planning and organization of various activities, various departments were formed and students worked as heads of departments. These students were selected through elections. These elections were held on 23rd August 2014. Throughout the year, various cultural programmes were conducted. Rakshabandhan festival was celebrated at Nachiket Balgram. Student Teachers tied rakhis to the children at Nachiket Balgram institute which works for the Deprived children. 15th August was celebrated as independence day with flag hoisting and cultural programmes.

5th September was celebrated as teacher’s day. Dr. Sunil Shete,  Dy. Director of  Higher Education of Maharashtra State was the chief guest of the programme. On this day some student teachers taught in class & also took the charge  of principal as well as co-ordinator. Dr.Sunil Shete and Dr. K.R Patekar sir had given valuable guidance to the student teachers.

Many festivals were also celebrated in the college. In Navaratri,student teachers were dressed in various forms of  Devi  and performed on  stage. Students played various traditional games and had great fun on Bhondala and Dandiya celebration.

On 3rd March birth anniversary of Kusumagraj (V.V. Shirwadkar ) was celebrated as Marathi Din. Students performed drama & gave presentations on same theme.

A teacher’s aim  is not to create student in his own image but to develop students who can create their own image. That’s why for the all round development of our students, under the academic activities,  college has organized skill development programmes.

On 4th October 2014 Presentation skills programme was conducted. In this programme powerpoint presentation, poster presentation, drama presentation were held & students have participated actively in presentation.

In collarboration with Student Welfare Dept of  S.P.P.U, college has organized various programmes like Special guidance programme, Earn & learn scheme, Personality Development programmes etc. On 29th November, lecture by Mr. Avinash Mokashi was organized. He gave us very important information about Women’s Rights & Women Protection. HOD, Department of English at Ramkrishshna More College, Dr. Shilpagauri Ganpule made us aware about team building skills, while third lecture was on stress management by Dr. Arun Shinde, Asst. Professor at Chandrashekhar Agashe College of Physical Education, Pune.

Under Special Guidance lecture series, various lectures were organized on health & curriculum related topics. Dr. Neve & Dr. Trupti Tonpe from sterling hospital also gave valuable guidance on the occasion of special guidance lecture.

Pratibha College of Education and Bahishal Dept of S.P.P.U had jointly organized Bahishal Vyathyanmala from 17th Dec. to 19th Dec . Dr. Pandharmise Prakash spoke on sub Today’s Youth,Dr. Rajkumar Kadam spoke on topic Swami Vivekananda’s educational thoughts. Dr. Samprasad Kenjale gave guidance on the topic Entreprneurship Development. Under social service activity, Sterling  Hospitai, Lions Club and PCOE jointly organised cancer awareness rally.

Striving for success without hardwork is like trying to harvest where you have not planted. But our students worked very hard  during internship programme. They worked in group at different schools in PCMC  area during 5th   jan to 17th  jan. That’s why to appreciate their hardwork and success, we organized  Intership programme presentations on 8th Jan. All groups presented their work during internship.

Under Health programme, Health Chekp was done on 13th December.Staff of Sterling Multispeciality Hospital done health check up  of students.

As said in Bhagvad Geeta Yoga is the Journey of the self , through the self , to the self. Keeping this in mind we organised 21 days yoga certificate course for students. Dr.Vinod Samprasad was the chief guest of yoga inaguration programme. Daily training of Yoga was given to our student and exams were conducted & after that certificates were given to the students.

‘To train the students in teaching’ is not just out aim but we also focus on job opportumities of our students . That’s why campus intervies were organized under Placement cell of college, Akanksha foundation, Teach for India, Various international CBSE ,& State board schools were invited for campus interviews.

In  sports  activity, Ex.Principal of Chandarshekhar Agashe College of Physical Education, Dr. Nayana Nimkar was invited as a chief guest. March Pass was done in traditional way. Dodge ball, Shortput, Funny games were conducted.

On 28th Feb we celebrated Science Day. Students prepared various working models of sciencec & exhibition was held on that day.

Field visits were organized on different places according to the methods of students. During this programme Hindi method students visited S. M. Joshi Vidyalaya, Pune, English Method students visited British Library, Geography Method student visited  New Eng School , History /Economics  Method student visited Kelkar Museum,  Deccan College, Marathi Method students visited  Marathi Dept. S.P.P.U., Maths /Science Method students visited IUCAA in S.P.P.U.

Prize distribution ceremory was conducted at the end of the year to appreciate them  Individually as well as team for the competitions which were conducted throughout the year.

As per our tradition, each year we organize valedictory function called as Deekshant Samarambh. It is celebrated in traditional way where students take professional oath to follow the code of conduct as teachers.
